For those that are unaware Prime Cuts Music is a foremost Australian metal music label based in WA. Slayfest 2007
With Australia in a total international metal frenzy – and just when you thought – too much metal is never enough – Slayfest 2007 gets ready to kick off a huge weekend in Australian metal for the inaugural editions which sees the event take in Bunbury, Perth and Melbourne.
Slayfest 2007 busts into 3 of Australia's best live venues to churn out 3 nights of pure slayhem, kicking off on Thursday March 8 at Bunbury’s Odessey Nightclub then, moving onto Capitol on Friday March 9 which will see 10 of Australia’s best metal and hardcore live acts gather to inflict all out sonic carnage on Perth’s metal thirsty minions. - before finishing at Melbourne's legendary Corner Hotel on Sunday March 11.
Heading up the event and performing on all 3 shows (Bunbury, Perth & Melbourne) will be Tasmanian lords of doom –PSYCROPTIC – who were last seen in Perth carving it up with Cannibal Corpse. Currently on tour with Deicide in Europe, Slayfest 2007 will be Psycroptics home coming shows where their ever growing legions of fans alie in wait for their trademark blastbeats and merciless guttural growls.

Slayer Perth Show Venue Change
As to be expected, the demand for tickets for the Slayer / Mastodon shows has been huge - the Perth concert selling out in just over a day. Therefore, the venue for the Perth show has been changed to accomodate more people, to the Robinson Pavilion in Claremont. This will also make it an all age show and tickets will go on sale at 9am on Tuesday the 30th of January. All tickets purchased for the cancelled Metro City show will be valid for Robinson Pavilion.
So there you go - if you missed out the first round here is your chance again. The Perth show is on Thursday the 12th of April with doors open - 6.30-10.30pm (Slayer on stage 9pm). Tickets from 78's, Planet, Beat and bocs 08 9484 1133 www.bocsticketing.com.au

Slayer and Mastodon in Perth
A lot of you would have already heard, and yes it's true - Slayer are playing Perth in April, along with special guests Mastodon! What more is there to say really? Everyone in Perth that calls themselve a metalhead know they have to be at this show. Slayer have been an integral part of heavy metal for decades, and influential in the style of many acts that are around now and Mastodon themselves are no slouches, earning rave reviews for their own work including their latest release "Blood Mountain".
The stage is set to be rained in blood come the 12th of April at Metro City, Perth - kicking off the start of the Australian tour, with following dates in Adelaide, Melbourne,Sydney and Brisbane. Check out the gig guide for all the dates and venues. Tickets on sale January 18.

Well what an awesome year it has been for metal, which heaps of international acts touring through (largely thanks to Soundworks Entertainment), and the local metal scene growing bigger and better all the time.
We can only expect more to come from this new year and look forward to taking the journey with all of you. Thanks for being a part of the Western Front community and supporting Australian heavy metal music. Go nuts and have a great new years eve, but play it safe so we can see you all again for everything metal the future holds.
