CARCASS are back and back at what they do best! Writing and releasing the choicest of cuts in their highly influential way. With ‘Surgical Steel’, CARCASS has risen to the occasion and given fans an album that holds up to their classic repertoire, delivering another milestone and is undoubtedly just what the doctor ordered! Everything a CARCASS fan could want is on this record, with every era of the band represented.
These undeniable legends and forefathers of grind and melodic death metal have carefully placed Australian on the surgical table for June 2014. CARCASS is coming to carve you up, preparing to dissect each city in their pathologically explicit ways. We’ve been waiting to announce this tour and we know you’ve been waiting to hear it. Soundworks Touring anticipates these shows to sell out in a rabid frenzy, so be sure to secure your meatiest, heaviest & most important metal ticket in Australia this year.
CARCASS and local supports performing at:
June 12th – Perth, Capitol
June 13th – Brisbane, The Hifi
June 14th – Sydney, The Metro Theatre
June 15th – Melbourne, 170 Russell
Fans of Lamb of God, you maybe aware, or maybe not so here's the update - their movie "As The Palaces Burn" is coming out on February 27 and for Perth folk there is a one off screening at Innaloo cinemas at 7pm that night.
Always good when a cinema will run something metal related, so if you're interested you can head here for more details or tickets:

Some of you may have heard that Coroner are touring Australia in June (see more details below), but the announcements so far haven't included a Perth date. However, on the facebook event page, after some prompting from a fan and all round top bloke, Paul Easson, it was said by one of the promoters involved that if there were a good couple hundred people willing to sign a petition for it then they would do add a Perth show. I know there are plenty of Coroner fans in Perth so head over to the petition and jump on board! This would be the ultimate display of a promoter that they actually care about the fans of the bands they bring, and the perfect opportunity to show promoters that we have a healthy scene that will bring it when it comes to cool tours and shows!
Don't forget to pass it on and share it around!

Hailing from the South Highlands of New South Wales, Norse are about to launch a new release of their style of black / death metal on February 7 in Sydney at the Bald Faced Stag. This is Norse's first show after their hiatus upon losing long-time guitarist/vocalist Treelo and will be their first time showcasing their new lineup and launching their 7" vinyl "Plaguewhore". The lead guitarist from Apparitions of Null has just been announced as Norse's new live guitarist (and will be playing with both bands that night). Their new vocalist is still a mystery - people will have to head to the gig to find out who that is.
Not only that but everyone in the door goes in the draw to win a double pass to Septicflesh and Fleshgod Apocalypse in Sydney, courtesy of Metropolis Touring. Eternal Rest, Mephistopheles, The Seer and Apparitions of Null will be playing in support of Norse, and you can find the full event details on the gig guide or on the facebook event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/686930251327763/
I was contacted by Chris from Into The Pit Records because he's working on a compilation release for old Perth metal band SFD to put it out there to see if anyone might have some old photos or flyers etc to include in the CD artwork. If anyone has something or knows someone that does you can contact him at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
Unfortunately, SFD were before my time so I never got to see them, but I've heard good things mentioned about them from time to time, and they sound pretty good. Anyone that's curious check out this track:
